UJC Internship: Marketing, Communications & Community Engagement
ABOUT THE ORGANISATION AND THE ROLE
The United Jewish Campaign (UJC) is the fundraising arm of the Cape South African Jewish community, committed to empowering over 40 community organisations. We’re dedicated to creating impact through meaningful campaigns, and we’re looking for a dynamic Marketing Intern who is part Gen Z researcher and tech-savvy enthusiast ready to learn, share, and contribute to our diverse initiatives.
As a Marketing Intern with UJC, you won’t be tied to a single project—instead, you’ll have the opportunity to work across multiple key areas. This role is designed for someone eager to develop a wide range of skills in a collaborative, learning-focused environment where creativity meets data-driven strategy.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing & Communications:
- Support the development and distribution of marketing materials
- Assist in managing UJC’s digital channels and social media presence
- Contribute to drafting content and coordinating internal communications.
Data & Analytics:
- Research trends, audience insights, and campaign metrics
- Assist in data collection and analysis to inform marketing strategies
- Work with team members to prepare analytics reports and dashboards.
Fundraising:
- Support fundraising initiatives and donor outreach efforts
- Assist with the preparation of promotional materials for fundraising campaigns
- Contribute to maintaining databases of donors and prospects.
Event Co-ordination:
- Aid in the planning and execution of event logistics
- Coordinate communication between vendors, stakeholders, and volunteers
- Assist during event days in ensuring smooth operations.
Project Management:
- Support ongoing campaign planning and monitoring of deliverables
- Help maintain timelines and update progress reports for internal teams
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to understand project flows.
LEARNING AND SHARING ENVIRONMENT
- Embrace a culture of continuous learning through mentorship and peer collaboration
- Engage in team brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas
- Develop transferable skills across multiple disciplines while supporting day-to-day operations.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
1. Tech Savvy & Digital Natives:
- Comfortable with digital tools, social media platforms, and data analytics software
- Keen interest in how technology can drive marketing and communications.
2. Research & Analytical Mindset:
- Ability to research trends and gather insights that inform strategy
- A curiosity-driven approach to exploring diverse areas of work.
3. Interpersonal & Communication Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and work in a supportive, dynamic environment.
4. Adaptability & Enthusiasm to Learn:
- Open to exploring various facets of marketing, fundraising, event coordination, and project management
- Eager to absorb new information, share learnings, and apply innovative ideas in practical scenarios.
