Sales Representative – The Fire Place Studio
ABOUT THE ORGANISATION AND THE ROLE
The Fire Place Studio is a leading supplier of premium fireplaces and heating solutions, serving both residential and commercial clients across Cape Town and surrounding areas. They offer a wide range of fire products that combine design, efficiency, and quality to bring warmth and style to homes and developments.
They are now looking for a motivated and professional Sales Representative to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sales, the drive to build strong relationships with homeowners, builders, and developers and excellent communication skills. The sales rep needs to be physically fit as some installations are managed onsite with contractors and builders.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. New Business Development:
- Promote and sell our range of fireplaces to homeowners, building companies, and property developers.
- Follow up on leads to close sales.
- Grow sales through identifying new business opportunities and channels.
2. Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain productive and sustainable relationships with new and existing clients and project stakeholders
- Conduct on-site consultations and product demonstrations.
3. Sales Management:
- Manage the full sales pipeline
- Maintain accurate sales records and provide regular activity reports.
- Determine customer needs
- Prepare quotations using cloud-based quoting system
- Liaise with suppliers regarding design and installation
- Negotiate price and delivery with customers.
- Ensure on time delivery to customers
- Occasional collection – using company vehicle – of fireplace units ordered from suppliers.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
The ideal applicant will have the following competencies:
1. Education and qualification
- Matric is essential.
2. Work experience and industry exposure
- Strong background and experience in sales (experience in building materials, interiors, or home improvement is a plus).
- Sound strategic and operational planning experience.
- Ability to work with technical specs and measurements.
3. Strong Communication and Interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for sales and new product introductions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a variety of clients.
- Ability to respond to queries and deal with complaints and manage difficult situations and personalities in a calm and rational manner.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
- Must be able to work onsite with builders and construction teams.
4. Excellent Administration and Organisational Skills
- Highly organised and efficient individual who can work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Computer literate and some experience with quotation systems.
- Systems-oriented with good attention to detail.
- A flexible, self-starter who can work autonomously while maintaining open channels of communication with the team.
- A dynamic and proactive individual who uses initiative to ensure service and performance are always to a high standard.
5. General / Specific Requirements
- A punctual, courteous and organised individual who always acts professionally.
- Professional appearance and customer-focused attitude.
- Physically fit to assist with moving or lifting equipment
- A dynamic and proactive individual who uses initiative to ensure service and performance are always to a high standard.
- Valid Driver’s licence is essential.
