PART TIME Marketing Assistant – Monkeybiz
ABOUT THE ORGANISATION AND THE ROLE
MONKEYBIZ is dedicated to reviving the tradition of African Beadwork, taking the love and knowledge that is passed down, over the centuries, from mother to child and becoming a bridge from traditional bead works into contemporary artworks. Monkeybiz is looking for a new marketing assistant with a focus on social media content creation and management.
The ideal candidate will assist in all areas of creativity, product development, marketing lead generation and marketing support. This individual will be comfortable in maintaining various marketing campaigns and have a creative skillset which enables the brainstorming of new initiatives.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create a monthly social media plan.
- Manage social media pages and posts.
- Create advert using META Business Manager and Ads Manager.
- Content creation: Copy writing for creating social media and website content, occasional blogging and PR. Develop and maintain websites, newsletters, emails, social media campaigns
- Graphic design and creative input – Be responsible for all creative digital artwork required for marketing, PR, social media and internal projects Contribute to marketing and creative brainstorm initiatives
- Photography & Videography –responsible for all product, lifestyle, PR and marketing photography and videography
- Identify and propose internal/external ideas and initiatives to help promote general awareness of company brand
- Website management (Shopify)– not part of immediate duties.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
The ideal applicant will have the following competencies:
1. Work experience and industry exposure
- Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Art/Marketing/Design, desirable
- Minimum 1 year work experience, essential
- At least 1-2 years copywriting experience, essential
- Experience in Shopify, advantageous.
- Experience in META Business Manager and Ads Manager, essential
- Portfolio of evidence, essential
- Experience working on various Social Media platforms, essential.
2. Strong Communication and Interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have excellent writing skills for content production on Social Media, Website and PR
- Team orientated person, willing to immerse themselves in the brand and organisation.
3. Excellent Administration and Organisational Skills
- Excellent planning skills
- Highly organised and efficient individual who can multitask
- A flexible, self-driven individual who is able to work autonomously while maintaining open channels of communication with a team
- Comfortable working in an unstructured environment and able to work well across cross-functional teams.
4. General
- Proficient in Photoshop and Canva, essential
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Digital and Social media skills and web savvy is essential.
