ABOUT THE ORGANISATION AND THE ROLE
A leading player in the hospitality industry, committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences through tailored service, innovative hospitality solutions, and world-class accommodations is looking for a dedicated Central Reservations Agent to join their team.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Reservations Management
- Handle and process quotes and reservations for multiple properties efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of bookings, payments, and guest information.
- Ensure all reservations (telephonic, email, and online) are captured correctly and according to standard.
2. Guest Relations & Customer Service
- Handle reservation inquiries professionally, providing courteous assistance and accurate information on room availability, packages, and special offers.
- Enhance guest experiences by proactively recommending premium options, managing service requests, and coordinating additional bookings such as transfers and dining.
- Address guest concerns efficiently, resolving issues where possible and escalating complex matters as needed to ensure seamless service delivery.
3. Administration & System Management
- Ensure optimal use of the booking system (Opera PMS) and maintain updated knowledge of all room types and availability (training will be provided).
- Process invoices, send credit card payment links, follow up on payments, and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Ensure adherence to all internal administrative processes.
4. Teamwork & Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Maintain a positive and professional work environment by supporting colleagues.
- Attend training sessions as required to enhance product knowledge and service delivery.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
1. Work experience and industry exposure
- Previous experience in the hospitality industry, is highly advantageous.
- Basic computer literacy is essential
- Familiarity with Opera PMS booking system is an added advantage.
2. Strong Communication and Interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer service-focused with a service-oriented and professional approach.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Able to maintain calm under pressure and handle difficult personalities in a professional and respectful manner.
3. Excellent Administration and Organisational Skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with the ability to think on your feet to troubleshoot effectively.
4. General / Specific requirements
- Guest-focussed with a positive and professional attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing demands and peak booking periods.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.

| Salary range: | Cost to Company package of R10 000 – R12 000 a month (commensurate with skill and experience) which includes contribution towards pension fund, a performance-based 13th cheque and optional contribution towards medical aid. |
