ABOUT THE ORGANISATION AND THE ROLE

A specialist Property Valuation and Appraisal firm in Cape Town is looking for a temp office assistant with a head for figures, basic accounting and computer literacy skills, to join their team full time to assist with routine office work over the next 4 weeks. This may include weekends and some potential over-time working hours. Ideally a knowledge of some real estate and basic property valuation would be advantageous.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Training will be given for all duties and responsibilities.
  • Assist with preparation of spreadsheets and completion of forms.
  • Ensuring accurate and necessary supporting information is provided.
  • Loading data on Excel; inputting includes data and very basic calculations.
  • Computer-based property research (Basic) for which on-the-job training will be provided
  • Filling out forms / batching and dispatching as directed
  • Additional ad hoc general administration as and when required.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

The ideal applicant will have the following competencies:

1. Work experience and industry exposure

  • Previous work experience is necessary or a final year accounting student
  • Knowledge of property would be ideal, but not essential

2. Strong Communication and Interpersonal skills

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with a small team.
  • Be able to communicate with clients as directed.

3. Excellent Administration and Organisational Skills

  • A highly organised and efficient individual who can multitask and work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Systems oriented with good attention to detail.
  • A flexible, self-driven individual who is able to work autonomously while maintaining open channels of communication with a small team.

4. General

  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and basic Excel)
  • A highly honest and ethical individual.
