Sales Co-ordinator – Relate (NPO)
ABOUT THE ORGANISATION AND THE ROLE
Relate is a 100% not-for-profit social enterprise based in Cape Town, creating handmade cause bracelets that generate income for township-based seniors and young adults while raising funds for credible charities. With a strong focus on social impact, Relate combines creativity, purpose, and enterprise to build a more inclusive South Africa.
We’re looking for a Sales Coordinator / Junior Account Manager who wants to join a purpose-driven team that values heart and hustle, someone organised, proactive, and excited by meaningful work. You’ll initially step in to provide maternity leave cover, managing daily orders and supporting existing customers. Over time, you’ll help strengthen relationships, grow accounts, and support strategic sales projects. This role is ideal for someone with sales and account management experience who wants to grow into a more senior relationship management role.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Customer Support & Order Management
- Manage day-to-day orders for Relate’s retail, corporate and beneficiary partners (excluding key accounts)
- Ensure accurate order processing and documentation
- Provide solutions-focused and responsive customer support
- Maintain and update customer records on internal systems.
2. Relationship Building & Growth
- Build strong relationships with smaller and mid-level customers
- Identify growth opportunities with existing and new partnerships
- Support the CEO with key account activities
- Track customer trends and identify untapped potential.
3. Sales Operations & Admin
- Maintain CRM and align order timelines with production
- Collaborate with marketing, finance, and production teams
- Support the team with sales reporting and campaign input
- Contribute creative ideas for product ranges or customer campaigns.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
The ideal applicant will have the following competencies:
1. Work experience and industry exposure
- Atleast 2–4 years in sales, account management, or retail environments
- Experience in purpose-led or social impact businesses is a plus
- Understanding of the retail and/or tourism sectors an advantage
2. Strong Communication and Interpersonal skills
- Friendly, people-first communicator who enjoys building relationships
- Able to manage client expectations while maintaining professionalism
- Confident working across email, phone, and in-person contact
- Energetic, proactive, and excited to learn.
3. Excellent Administration and Organisational Skills
- Comfortable juggling administrative tasks and customer care
- Detail-oriented and deadline-driven
- Proficient in Excel, email platforms, and basic CRM tools
- Digitally fluent and able to adapt to new tech tools.
4. General
- Entrepreneurial and solutions-focused
- Passionate about purpose-led business and team collaboration
- Potential to grow into a Key Account Manager role
- Collaborate with local and global brands and township crafters.
